Fair Skilled Mobility: A Manifesto
This open-access volume sets out a transformative approach to the global flow of skilled migration, advocating for ethical, balanced, and sustainable frameworks over transactional models. Instead of focusing strictly on human capital loss and the traditional threats of \'brain drain,\' the book reframes skilled migration through the lens of \'Migration Skill Corridors\' (MSCs) to achieve mutually beneficial development for both origin and destination countries. Drawing on extensive original data from across 15 countries of origin and 15 countries of destination, the manifesto introduces 13 core theses that tackle labor market depletion, cross-border skill recognition, and fair transnational recruitment practices. Navigating a world altered by rapid technological automation, AI implementation, and shifting demographics, this study serves as an essential, future-ready roadmap for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers striving for inclusive and resilient global labor infrastructures.
